IHP Memorial in Progress

Summer 2018 Update

From Robert Burns' "To a Mouse"
On Turning up Her Nest with the Plough
November, 1785

But Mousie, thou art no thy-lane,
In proving foresight may be vain:
The best laid schemes o’ Mice an’ Men

Gang aft agley,
An’ lea’e us nought but grief an’ pain,
For promis’d joy!

Still, thou art blest, compar’d wi’ me!
The present only toucheth thee:
But Och! I backward cast my e’e,
On prospects drear!
An’ forward tho’ I canna see,

I guess an’ fear!

Dear Friends of the Integrated Humanities,

So far the memorial looks beautiful. But, due to schemes gangin' agley, an' guessin' an' fearin' if all would be finished, it is with deep regret that we have decided to postpone the September 3 dedication ceremony. Completion of the memorial is near! If you can, come watch the setting of the memorial stone on its foundation! We will send an announcement giving a few days' notice. After the memorial is complete, expect an update with details on the dedication ceremony.

Visit the website for updates and more pictures. And, you can still make a donation toward the memorial and dedication. Each dollar gives you a chance in a drawing for the bronze Don Quixote prototype. We apologize for any inconvenience the dedication ceremony delay will cause and thank you for your past and continued support.

Gratefully,
The Members of the IHP Committee
